This commercial re-development project located in southeast Orange County, Florida required the assessment and remediation of petroleum contaminated soils and groundwater at the site of a former auto salvage yard.
A large auto salvage yard was located in the central portion of this commercial development project. ep3, inc. services provided included petroleum storage tank closure, site assessment, contaminated soil remediation, and groundwater quality monitoring.
A conditional Site Rehabilitaion Completion Order (SRCO) is pending on the site. The construction of a major home improvement store has been completed, with several other retail stores to follow.
A Construction and Demolition (C&D) debris landfill was discovered on this property and required removal prior to the development of the property as a small residential community in Hillsborough County, Florida.
ep3, inc.'s principals provided consulting services and project oversight for the development of this residential subdivision. A large amount of landfilled C&D debris was discovered during initial site development activities. The debris was completely removed from the site and transported offsite for disposal under a Director's Authorization permit issued by the Environmental Protection Commission of Hillsborough County.
Post excavation soil and groundwater testing was conducted to verify that there was no adverse impact to the site and the site was subsequently developed into a small residential subdivision. Site plans were modified slightly to locate a stormwater retention pond in the former excavation area. This significantly reduced the amount of backfill required to complete the project.
